Your script stays in your browser.
The reader processes your script on your device. It has no account system, script-upload endpoint, or cloud sync.
- Local saving. When browser storage is available, the reader saves your script, title, reading position, and display settings in local storage on this website’s origin. Other people using the same browser profile on this device may be able to open it.
- Storage limits. Private browsing, device policies, browser settings, or a full storage quota can prevent saving. The editor displays a message when a save fails. Clearing site data or switching browsers can remove or separate your saved script.
- Backups. Export .txt downloads a plain text file to your device. That file contains the script. Keep it somewhere appropriate for its contents. Import reads the file locally; the reader does not upload it.
- Replacing a script. Import, Clear, and Use sample offer an Undo action for the previous script during the current page session. This is not a permanent version history. If saved data is unreadable, the reader attempts to keep a recovery copy in local storage.
- Network requests. Your browser downloads the website and its assets from the hosting provider. The provider may process standard request information such as an IP address, browser information, and request logs. This version adds no advertising pixels or analytics scripts.
- Camera and microphone. The full-page reader requests camera access only after you choose Enable camera. The microphone is optional and controlled before enabling the camera. Live preview and recorded video stay on your device; this tool does not upload them. A take stays in this tab’s memory, separately from saved scripts, until you download or discard it. Reloading or closing the tab can lose it. Download the video before leaving. Camera tracks stop when you turn the camera off, finish recording or leave the page. A supported browser may keep the screen awake while reading; that stops when you pause or leave the page.
- Leaving this site. Downloads and any future app links are separate from browser storage. Teleprompter Pal is in development; this reader does not transfer a script to the app automatically.
Remove saved text.
Use Clear to replace the current script with an empty one. To remove all saved reader settings and any recovery copy, clear this website’s stored site data in your browser settings. Export anything you want to keep first.
